Located in the heart of downtown Chico, CA, The Argus has been a beloved part of the community for nine years. Named after the Ween song, The Argus is more than just a bar—it’s a gathering place for locals and visitors alike, dedicated to creating a welcoming, relaxed environment that reflects the spirit of Chico.

With a focus on quality cocktails, memorable events, and a versatile patio space, The Argus has become a favorite spot for those looking to enjoy a night out, celebrate special occasions, or experience local culture in a laid-back setting.

FAQ

  • All found items are held behind the bar and then taken to the office. If you lose an item during an event, please see our event staff for assistance. If you realize you have lost an item after you leave the premises, please email argusbarandpatio@gmail.com with “Lost and Found” + the name of the event in the subject, as well as a description of the lost item in the email’s body.

    The lost and found is open Monday through Friday, from 4 to 8 pm.

  • All booking requests should be sent to argusbarandpatio@gmail.com. Please include links to your web pages, official and social, audio and video. Please do not include attachments, only links. Each submission is reviewed and responses are sent if/when we have an opening to offer. We appreciate your interest in The Argus and we look forward to hearing from you!

  • The Argus patio is available for private events. Our patio is very open and welcoming, and it has a state-of-the-art sound system and full streaming capabilities. 

    We offer patio rentals for free with the requirement that you order $500 worth of drinks.
